PAGES mulberry cross-body bag - dark green
PAGES mulberry cross-body bag belongs to KI LEE’s on-going collaboration with the menswear brand <the STOLEN GARMENT>, designed for 22SS collection and presented during the 22SS New York Fashion Week. Inspired by the story of St. Anthony of Padua and his miraculously re-discovered book, PAGES cross-body bag is made with the brand’s signature haunji fabric (mulberry-bast-and-cotton vegan leather). The bag’s rectangular silhouette and the curved flap and sides borrow their forms from book binding tradition. Just as books serve both as beautiful objects and receptacles of knowledge, PAGES cross-body bag seeks to embody both the aesthetic form and function.
Thanks to the natural characteristics of mulberry bast fiber, Hanji is 99.9% anti-bacterial, durable, lightweight, breathable and water repellent. The use of this textile developed by a local independent textile manufacturer adds to the theme of poetic utility through its combination of Korean paper-making tradition of hanji and innovative textile technology.
